(one of) Apple Watch's secret feature

So is Apple Watch waterproof? Though Apple doesn't advertise this feature, some people tested it out~

Well, the watch comes with rating IPX7, which doesn't mean that you should submerge the watch in water. More information on IP code rating used on wikipedia.

It was fun watching the video - Uberrima fides

Triumph vs Disney - Find the One TV Ad

Reality meets fairy tale! And this commercial is a great case study for media and marketing students as they also went through the trouble to share the making of this commercial.

On animation,

Nearly Everything App from Nearly Everything Agency (NEA)

When good deeds are done, people seldom talk about it. So to make this world a tiny little bit of a better place, I'd like to share what I found today - myENV app by the National Environment Agency.

I've always liked NEA's videos, thought their video media advertising was impactful (look out mozzies!). But their iOS/Android application offers even more goodies for people - from weather forecast to finding hygienic public toilets (which the ladies will like). Here's a quick summary video of what their app offers~

New Balance Commercial

It's hard to imagine that a sports shoe company can come up with a romantic/ wedding commercial. Watch it below.

I think this fits New Balance as they are going the mainstream sportswear market. It wouldn't fit with Nike or Adidas which tend towards professional sportswear. This short clip has certainly made an impact on the brand!

Advertising to the eldery

I would say that Singapore Government's advertising of the Pioneer Generation package (imagine pension scheme upgrade for every elderly citizen above the age of 65) is a success. In what manner? The advertising campaign is fully customised to people of that age group! Here's a video which got the old folks talking:

The campaign is fully customised to the elderly in the sense that the music used, type of instruments, props (from tools to costumes) brings you back to the 80s Singapore. My parents actually liked the adverts, and it gives us (younger ones) to see how the old times used to be like, in high definition.

There are also short advertising snippets which comes in various languages and dialects. You should take a look on the YouTube channel here: http://www.youtube.com/user/govsingapore

Problem gambling, and World Cup

How can I be missing a post on World Cup (even though I haven't watch any of the matches)?

Gambling never pays.. You can do it for entertainment but don't get addicted to it!

Have a great day!

Leaving instructions behind

Saw this advertisement on TV today.

Thought it's shown at an inappropriate time, since the TV viewers who are watching are the elderly or housewives (it's like lunch time on a home viewer channel). But towards the end of the advertisement, it sent a strong message for viewers to leave instructions on the assets and property.

Google Glass!

TechCrunch did a demo on google glass a year back, here's the video.

So apparently battery was an issue here - the device can't last more than 4 hours before it needs to be recharged, and you probably can't video anything more than half and hour.

Here's a look at the original advertisement by Google on the Glass.

although I thought the movie "Seeds" showcased the use of Google better.

Unsung Hero - Thai Life Insurance commercial

This ad truly reflects the spirit of life insurance - you may not know why you are setting aside some money each month which seemingly goes into a blackhole until when you encash the policy at the end of the day to reap the rewards.

It's similar to doing good deeds everyday which brings about unexpected rewards. Have tissue paper on standby when you watch this!

Day 9 - another sunny day

It's mid-week! And the skies are clear blue. Lovely day. The number of new cases hit 300+ yesterday, and we need to wear masks when we...
